A drawing will be held at 7:30 p.m. for a $25 in Aloha Bucks certificates, which can be used to purchase food and/or products from participating vendors at the Maui Sunday Market.

Maui Sunday Market to reopen on June 7th

The Maui Food Technology Center (MFTC) announces the re-opening of their weekly Maui Sunday Market starting this Sunday, June 7, 2020. The event is open to the public and will be held from 4 pm to 8 pm in the parking lot of the Kahului Shopping Center located at 65 W. Kaahumanu Avenue in Kahului. Admission is free. According to Luana Mahi of MFTC, “The Maui Sunday Market is known as the place where our community gathers each Sunday. Now, we’ll be coming together in a different way with a number of health and safety procedures in place as a result of COVID-19.”

Hawaiian Airlines Rings in New Kahului-Las Vegas Service

Drum roll please! The winners of Hawaiian Airlines' “Luck Be on Maui Tonight” drawing held during the Maui Sunday Market last night were … Godfrey Akina and Nadine Bagda! Each accompanied by a guest, embarked on an all-inclusive roundtrip to Las Vegas on Hawaiian Airlines, including a complimentary AVIS rental car, and hotel provided by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.

Hawaiian Airlines celebrates inaugural flight from Maui to Las Vegas with “Luck Be on Maui Tonight” event

On Sun., December 15, 2019, Hawaiian Airlines will take over the Maui Sunday Market in celebration of their inaugural flight from Maui to Las Vegas. Held at the Kahului Shopping Center from 4 pm to 8 pm, this special event will feature the first-ever “Luck Be On Maui Tonight” drawing. Two winners will be drawn at 6 pm. Each winner will receive two round trip tickets on Hawaiian Airlines departing Kahului Airport to Las Vegas on Sun., Dec. 15, returning on Thurs., Dec. 19; 4 days, 3 nights at the Golden Nugget Hotel in Las Vegas; and an Avis Car Rental.

Contest rules are:

  • You must be present to win.

  • Pack your bags beforehand! Your flight will depart that evening, Sunday, Dec. 15, 2019 (flight# HA32, leaves Kahului 8:50 pm). You’ll return on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2019 (flight# HA31, departs Las Vegas 6:30 pm).

  • If you are not able to fly out that evening, another winner will be drawn.

  • You can enter drawing starting at 4 pm when the Maui Sunday Market opens. Winners will be drawn promptly at 6pm

WaiSide Softball 14u Travel team fundraiser at MSM

Help the WaiSide Softball 14u Travel team get to the 2019 Nationals in Palmdale, California!  During this coming Maui Sunday Market, Sept 8, they’ll be selling bottled water to raise funds to help offset expenses for this trip. Their 14U Travel Team comprised of girls ages 7-14 took the Championship in the MIT Tournament here on Maui this past June and captured 3rd in the USA Prep Stars & Stripes later that month.

"Elvis" rocks the house at the Maui Sunday Market

It was Viva Las Maui on Sunday, July 14th, when award-winning Elvis tribute artist Lloyd Aron Douglas, took the stage at the Maui Sunday Market at Kahului Shopping Center. Fans of the King of Rock n’ Roll enjoyed a lively musical performance along with some spontaneous moments with Lloyd belting out a famous Filipino love song. No wonder why hearts went pitter patter.

Maui Sunday Market announces their 1st Anniversary Celebration will be held on Sunday, July 28, 2019, from 4 pm to 8 pm in the Kahului Shopping Center parking lot. Among the festivities will be performances by Homestead Band (5:15 pm-6:15 pm) and “Hawaii's Reggae Ambassador” Marty Dread (6:30 pm-7:30 pm). Elvis fans are in for a nostalgic treat when King of Rock n’ Roll impersonator Lloyd Aron Douglas takes the stage at the Maui Sunday Market, 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm on Sunday, July 14th. This family-friendly event, which will be held at Kahului Shopping Center from 4 pm to 8 pm, will also feature food trucks and island vendors. Seating is limited and attendees are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs. Public admission and parking is free.

A sweet tribute by Grandpa Joe’s Candy Company at Maui Sunday Market

On Sunday, January 27, Grandpa Joe’s Candy Company will pay tribute to their company’s founder, the late Joe Miller, during the Maui Sunday Market at Kahului Shopping Center.  Miller passed away on Maui earlier this month. In celebration of his life, Miller’s `ohana will offer FREE cotton candy on a stick to the public during the event, from 4 to 8 pm, at the Kahului Shopping Center.

When it comes to putting on community grass root events, Maui Food Technology Center (MFTC) has come up with a winning recipe.

Recently, MFTC’s ‘ohana grew, thanks to their first-ever Maui Street Market. Held on December 6th at the UH Maui College, the event was comprised of the same winning formula as the Sunday Market version ­– lots of ono food, music, shopping, and good times. But it also included helpful information about UH Maui College student services, college affiliates and nonprofit educational programs.
